Frequently Asked Questions

What macOS version do I need?
Brow requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. This ensures you get the best performance and all features work correctly.
How do I activate the Pro version?
After purchasing from the Mac App Store, the Pro version activates automatically. If you don't see Pro features, try restarting the app or signing out and back into your Apple ID.
Why does Brow need Accessibility permissions?
Accessibility permissions allow Brow to detect keyboard shortcuts globally, manage windows, and provide text transformations in any app. Your data stays completely local — we never collect or transmit any information.
How do I change the main hotkey?
Open Brow, go to Settings (⌘,), and click on "Shortcuts". You can customize the main activation hotkey and individual module shortcuts there.
Does Brow work with multiple monitors?
Yes! Brow fully supports multiple monitor setups. The window manager can snap windows to any display, and screenshots work across all connected monitors.
How does the AI Grammar Fix work?
Select any text in any application, then press Shift twice. Brow uses AI to analyze and correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. The processing happens securely and your text is not stored.
Can I sync clipboard history between devices?
Currently, clipboard history is stored locally on your Mac. Cross-device sync with iPhone is coming soon with Brow for iOS.
How do I uninstall Brow?
Drag Brow from your Applications folder to the Trash. To remove all data, also delete ~/Library/Application Support/Brow and ~/Library/Preferences/com.brow-app.Brow.plist.
